Dear Parents,

As ICS continues to expand, so does our need for parental involvement. Involvement in the ICS Parent Association allows parents to voice their concerns and ideas. It is also an opportunity for parents to be part of their child’s school life.

As we look forward to the next school year, it is time to choose new members for some of the positions on the Executive Committee (ExCo). If you would like to serve for a term in ExCo or know another member of the Parent Association you would like to recommend to serve, please read the nomination material and complete the Nomination Form that is posted on the ICS Intranet .

For the 2010-11 academic school year, the following positions are up for re-election or are open.

- Vice-Chairperson (1)
- Secretary (1)
- Treasurer (1)
- Campus Representatives: Kindergarten (2), Elementary (4), Secondary (4)

Please return all Nomination Forms to the “PA Election Committee” by May 26, 2010. Please e-mail to the “PA Election Committee” or put the Nomination Form in an envelope marked “PA - Election”, and send it to school with your child. For Secondary parents, your child can give the envelope to the School Office.

The election will take place on 28th May, 2010, at the school chapel 5th floor, begins at 7:30 p.m. Any last minute nominations can be written in on the ballot at the meeting. We hope to see you there. Please contact the “PA Election Committee” if you have any questions.

If you are not able to attend the PA AGM, you are encouraged to download, and send back the filled PROXY form to the Election Committee Chair!

Whole School Teacher Appreciation Lunch - last one for this school year!

Secondary parents are planning a Whole School Teacher Appreciation Lunch for Friday, April 30 in conjunction with the 4th grade Elementary parents. This will be the third, and last, lunch this year and I'm sure with your help it will be as successful as the others.

Please take this opportunity to express your thanks to your teachers by contributing a dish of food (perhaps 8-10 servings) or dessert and let us know by email to or phone. It is really wonderful to see all the teachers enjoying this time together and I know they really appreciate it!

Please bring food to the 2/F Teacher's Lunchroom or drop off at the table in the parking garage before 11am. Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the fifth grade and secondary school parents that contributed delicious food to make the 2nd combined Teacher Appreciation Lunch a success. The teachers really enjoyed and appreciated the lunch - it's so neat to see everyone eating and fellowshipping together. There will be one final combined lunch in April with 4th grade parents and secondary parents, please contact us if you are able to contribute. Thank you!

Here are some slides presented during Part 2 of the presentation from St. Stephen's Society. It was an interesting and informative presentation - too bad we ran out of time and had to cut short this program that is intended to be a week-long seminar. We would like to thank Jackie Pullinger and her group of several speakers, some who shared their stories of addiction with us, for working with our school to provide these two seminars as well as others presented to our high school students. If there is enough interest from parents, there was talk of organizing future seminars. Also, a big thank you to our generous parents who donated to the society.

Please join a Parent Seminar

All parents are reminded they are welcome to attend a Parent Seminar with St. Stephen's Society on Saturday, Feb 6th from 2:30 until 4:30pm in the Lu Kao Hwa Theatre. There will be snacks and drinks provided.

This is part two and speakers will be giving ideas about parenting for healthy development during adolescent years and suggesting ways of intervening early to prevent addictive behaviors from developing. Part one was attended by just over 50 people and many stayed to enjoy a light lunch and fellowship after. Following are a few of the informative slides that were presented. We hope to see you there!

ICS Prayer Watch for 2010

Dear ICS parents, teachers & administrators,

The parents' prayer group sincerely invite you to join our prayer meetings for the rest of the school year in 2010. It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to give thanks to the Lord and cover the school , our kids and each other in prayers.
