Textbook list available for 2013-14

We have found that some families prefer to have their own copy of a textbook to keep at home so their student does not have to carry it back and forth to school. The PA has acquired the Secondary School list of textbooks for 2013-14 with ISBN numbers for easier ordering.

The school recommends ordering from Follett Educational Services  http://fes.follet.com since they also offer used textbooks and you can save on shipping charges compared to Amazon.

Please contact the PA if you would like to see the textbook list.

ICS 2013 PA Annual General Meeting is May 27th

April 22, 2013

Dear Parents,

As ICS continues to expand, so does our need for parental involvement. Involvement in the ICS Parent Association allows parents to voice their concerns and ideas. It is also an opportunity for parents to be part of their child’s school life.

As we look forward to the next school year, it is time to choose new members for some of the positions on the Executive Committee (ExCo). If you would like to serve for a term in ExCo or know another member of the Parent Association you would like to recommend to serve, please read the nomination material and complete the Nomination Form that is posted on the ICS PA documents website:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9D-NCfIwUuVSmF0WWJlMDhRVUE&usp=sharing

For the 2013-14 academic school year, the following positions are up for re-election or are open.

- Chair (1), Vice Chair (1), Secretary (1)

- Campus Representatives: Kindergarten (2), Elementary (2), Secondary (3)

Please return all Nomination Forms to the “PA ExCo AGM Election Committee” by May 24, 2013. Please e-mail to the “PA Election Committee” or put the Nomination Form in an envelope marked “PA - Election”, and send it to school with your child. For Secondary parents, your child can give the envelope to the School Office.

The election will take place on May 27, 2013, at the ICS Chapel 5th floor, during the AGM that begins at 7:30 p.m. Any last minute nominations can be voiced/written in on a ballot at the meeting. If you cannot make the meeting, your vote will still count if you fill out and return the proxy form below, but we hope to see you there. Please contact the “PA Election Committee” if you have any questions.

Middle School Fellowship - "The Thing"

We are blessed by teachers - generous with their time to organize and take part in events such as "The Thing"

We are blessed by parents - generous with their contributions of food for their students to enjoy, this time after tiring themselves out with dodgeball after devos.

A bit of the crazy, fun!

Time with ABBA

The Lord has been casting visions to various parents' prayer group members at different times & at ICS prayer meetings about Whole School Praise & Prayer gatherings. The Lord has orchestrated this Time with ABBA and His heart is to bring healing & unity to the ICS community.

Psalm 22:3-5 "3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded." *

There was wonderful song and praise and a Chain of Blessings: BOT -> HM -> staff, Directors & Principals -> faculty -> students & parents -> BOT & HM

*God is enthroned in the Praises of His ICS children (V3) - God's heart & desire is to see ICS Worship & Praise Him & the Holy Spirit reminds us His Sovereign ruling in ICS and our focus on the Lord & our trust in Him alone( V4).
Indeed this was all our founding parents did - desperately dependent on the Lord because they had nothing (A testimony from one of our founding parents). Praise the Lord He is faithful & He Provided for & delivered ICS !

Wonderful parents!

We really have some wonderful parents at ICS! They volunteer their time in prayer groups, the classroom and at special events like High School Career Day. They volunteer their skills to beautify the campus and behind the scenes at Drama productions. They contribute food to events like Thanksgiving lunch and yesterday's Teacher Appreciation Lunch. Yes, parents appreciate their children's teachers, but we also appreciate our parents! Thank you parents!

Here's a write-up in the Secondary Weekly Connection about Career Day:

Below are some snapshots from the Teacher Appreciation Lunch yesterday hosted by Grade 5 and Secondary parents. The teachers really enjoy this time of fellowship and food!

Gospel Dinner follow-up

Dear fellow ICS Parents,

On behalf of the 2013 Gospel Dinner Committee, I want to express my appreciation to your sponsorship, hosting of tables and intercession/prayer ministry leading up to our March 8 dinner at Regal Riverside! The evening symbolized unity in our community, and through the singing and worship and Marlon's testimony and Rev. Ng's special family message, many lives were changed and dozens returning to the Lord! Praise God!

As we give thanks to the Lord, I want to invite your prayer and participation to our next PA/Prayer Team sponsored event: April 16, 2013 Tuesday 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 5/F chapel Time with ABBA Praise and Prayer Gathering (We invite the whole ICS community to join but in particular hoping to see at least 100 fathers in attendance) Please mark your calendar to attend and invite more fathers to join. A father and son team will lead worship. Fathers will take the lead to pray for the ICS community. See you there!

Some comments -

“We rejoice with those who made decisions. It was also a wonderful testimony to our students that their parents take seriously their responsibility to serve and transform their communities. Well done!”

“Many, both Christians and Non-Christians, young and old, were touched amazingly by the Father's unfailing love for all last night.”
